New River Comprehensive Treatment Center (CTC), located in Galax, Virginia, provides medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for adults age 18 and older of all genders who are suffering from opioid addiction. MAT addresses the emotional, behavioral, and physical aspects of opioid addiction. At our opioid addiction treatment center in Galax, Virginia, patients receive a prescription for a medication that alleviates opioid cravings and distressing withdrawal symptoms. After completing a comprehensive assessment, a patient may be prescribed Suboxone, methadone, naltrexone, or buprenorphine. Patients may also take part in group or individual counseling, which can help set the groundwork for lasting recovery.
