After many years of attempting to achieve sobriety on my own, on Feb 3rd, 2011 I became willing to do anything suggested to me. I had been sufficiently humbled by my inability to live the life I desired and was exhausted by years of half hearted attempts at recovery. Up until this point I honestly believe that I had been doing the best I could have possibly done at the time, but something was different this time. I believed that recovery was possible because I had witnessed it many times in other people. Although I was still afraid that it might not work for me, I had a newfound willingness to let go of all my preconceived notions about how recovery should be done and just began asking for help.
